SRI has close links with more than 120<\/strong>\u00a0specialist lawyers in 68<\/strong>\u00a0countries around the world. Experts in their fields, they are at the cutting edge of the law and how it affects seafarers. These lawyers support SRI in two ways:<\/p>\n

1. They offer their specialist professional expertise in the work undertaken by SRI to research those areas of the law which leave the seafarer vulnerable.<\/p>\n

2. They have signed up to the\u00a0SRI Charter of Good Practice for Provision of Legal Services to Seafarers<\/a>\u00a0(the Charter) which protects the interests of the seafarer and guarantees he or she will be treated fairly, respectfully and without discrimination should they be in need of legal assistance.<\/p>\n

SRI does not recommend one lawyer\/law firm over another, but we understand that it is often difficult to find lawyers who are experienced in representing seafarers, or willing to accept seafarers as clients.<\/p>\n

Subscribers to the Charter are lawyers\/law firms professionally licensed to practice in their respective jurisdictions.<\/p>\n
