Shipping company Samudera Indonesia has clinched a USD70 million contract to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to a power plant in Pomalaa, Indonesia.<\/p>\n

It will deploy one of its 50 ships to supply the power plant, which is run by the state-owned gold miner Aneka Tambang. However, the Jakarta-based shipping company did not reveal which vessel will be directly involved in the LNG contract.<\/p>\n

Samudera Indonesia managing director Bani Mulia said that the company has budgeted USD120 million to purchase up to six ships in 2015. The shopping list comprises oil tankers, LNG carriers, and container vessels.<\/p>\n

The company is also bidding for state-owned oil and gas corporation Pertamina’s floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) project in Java, Indonesia.<\/p>\n

The project is expected to generate revenue of around USD200 million per unit over the next 20 years.<\/p>\n
